Please rank these tier-2 Goalies for next year and mid-term.

    GS W GAa SV SV%

    Martin jones
    mrazek
    Smith
    Koskinen
    Talbot
    Grubauer
    korpisalo
    Schneider

I am debating putting grub and jones on top

Grubauer is still unproven but a better team. Martin jones was good in playoffs and the sharks are still competitive with a good core of players

    Who would you go?

Man goalies so hard to predict to begin with, this set of tier 2-3 goalies makes it even tougher. I’d imagine you will get all sorts of different combinations in the replies. I’ll try but don’t put much into it...

    Jones
    —————
Grubauer (I guess? Still very unproven to me. We’ve seen this sort of scenario before with Darling, Talbot, even Hellebuyck)
    Mrazek
    Talbot
    —————
    Koskinen/Schneider/Smith in any order
    —————
    Korpisalo

    Good luck!

This is pretty close to what I would say as well. I would just switch Koskinen and Talbot (so Koskinen moves up, Talbot moves down).

Just to add a bit more about Jones and Grubauer...Jones should probably be #1 on the list, though I put him #2 after Grubauer because I owned Jones last year and am admittedly frustrated by his lack of consistency. Although he played well in the playoffs, he was horrible for most of the regular season last year. The Wins were there, despite the way he played and not because of the way he played. Far too often, he let in very weak goals and his save % was atrocious (896) for a goalie with the third most wins in the league (36).

I suspect his position is secure given his contract and lack of better options (Dell only played marginally better than Jones last year). However, I will admit that part of me was a bit surprised San Jose didn't trade Jones this summer, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he is dealt at some point this coming season, especially if the regular season struggles continue.

Grubauer didn't play many games last year (under 40, I believe), but the underlying numbers were strong. It may not work out with Grubauer (as DusterDave mentioned, other goalies who have looked good in smaller/backup roles didn't fair so well after becoming the starter), but I see Grubauer as a boom-or-bust type of player. With the firepower on the Avs, if Grubauer can play well, he could potentially be a fantasy darling for years to come. Given my personal history with Jones, I'd certainly prefer Grubauer (and the proof is that I traded Jones+Gustafsson for Grubauer+Landeskog this off-season).

I think Jones and then Grub would be my top two, with Mrazek not far behind in third. After that it gets murkier, and I wouldn't be too fussed over owning any of the rest specifically, just going by acquisition cost at that point.

I own both Grubaur and Jones.

I hope Jones can jut return to is career average at least. Vlasic was not himself to start the season. Hopefully with Karlsson now signed long term they can get it together.

And if Grubaur can play like he did down the stretch and in the playoffs he could be a steal in late rounds.

First off, I have none of these as tier 2 goalies.

    Tier 3 guys:
Jones, Grubauer, Mrazek - Best opportunity of the bunch.

    Tier 4 guys:
Schneider - if healthy, otherwise tier 5

    Tier 5 guys:
Smith, Koskinen, Talbot, Korpisalo - I view all of these as timeshare goalies with potentially questionable ratios.

For anything beyond 1 year, I want no part of Talbot or Smith. Schneider worries me, but he's under contract for more than 1 year, while old, which is a bit better than Smith/Talbot.
