I realise the low-balling is a negotiation tactic but we've seen arbitrators heavily favour the player ask if it appears the team isn't negotiating in good faith. Nate Schmidt being awarded over double what Vegas offered (and very close to his ask) is the only example I can think of off the top of my head. It wouldn't shock me if Eddy get closer to $4M than $3M.


I wonder if the arbitrator will 'over-correct' and award Eddy a larger salary than he would have if the Blues came in with a more reasonable offer.

Called that one wrong. Slight raise for Eddy, UFA after next season.

it should make more sense, but that's now how inflation seems to work. Pay more for less. Just stroll down the cookie aisle at the grocery store.

Price keeps going up and the size keeps getting smaller. Less cookies - more money. Nipping both sides of your dollar.
