$50 31 team rapid draft dynasty

New 31 team dynasty, all teams will have an NHL team name. There will be 2 drafts as follows. With an initial random draw to choose the order.
Player draft will have a 1 minute timer per pick to fill your 33 person roster which includes 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 3F, 6D, 1G, 4 bench, 10 minors.
1) 1-31 will select an NHL team as well as 3 players of any variety from that NHL team. (3 players must be selected immediately upon selecting team)
2) 31-1, 1-31, 31-1 and so on in a snake format filling the remainder of rosters including minors.

200 faab for free agent acquisitions per season.
Salary cap will reflect the actual NHL cap ceiling and floor.

Playoffs will include 4 rounds with 16 teams, 8 from each conference 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5.

Future draft positions will be aligned with the NHL lottery.

Trades will have a veto system in place needing 8 vetos to overturn a trade.

$1470 will be the prize pool after Fantrax premium fees.

Your best option is to set a long queue as most teams will likely auto pick some if not several picks.
We have successful leagues run with these same rules but that have started with a slow draft.

I’ve got about 8 teams who’ve said they’re in.
We won’t draft nhl teams until all 31 gm’s have committed, we will then do a random generated email draw to determine the 1-31 order for team selection.

Ok, Im in. If it is at all possible I would prefer not to do the draft on July 28th though as I will be on holidays July 23 to 30th. If that does not work I may have to drop out as I will not be available at that time.

So question, 1 minute draft seems a bit nuts for a dynasty. I've been in a bunch of season leagues with a 1 minute draft, and it gets out of hand when drafting ~20 players/12 teams. Lots of people bailing on their teams by Christmas.

You're talking about over 1000 players picked on a 1 minute timer (or roughly 17 hours of straight picks, presuming no breaks). This is gonna be autodraft all over the place.

Season leagues people bail on by Christmas because once they’re out of contention there is no reason to continue being involved, the same with free leagues.
We have multiple other 31 team dynasty’s, I’m in 2 myself and some guys are in up to 4, all that originally started with slow drafts. One new dynasty is just wrapping up a slow draft and a few of us wanted to try this out. There will be auto picks I’m sure, but as long as you have a long queue set it’ll help. With 31 teams there is a lot of trade action and the ability to shape your team as you wish after the draft. With a snake draft you’ll also have a decent break between picks.

Draft has been set for Sunday September 8 beginning at 9am ET. Team draw and 3 franchise players will be picked once league is full and then draft pick trading can begin up until the draft.
