This one will fall under the radar but I like it a lot. A team with cap problems needs cheap depth that can put up points. Unless Babcock buries him like he did with Josh Leivo who could also do well in a depth role...

Going forward, I think we'll see more and more of this because of so many teams being in a desperate cap crunch.
Fringe players will look to avoid getting lost in the shuffle when free agent frenzy begins so they lock up a safe, albeit non-lucrative, deal just before July 1.
