Wow. State taxes factor into his take home pay here but the cap is the same everywhere and Duchene at $8MM AAV vs Hayes at $7.14MM is mind boggling.

Great deal for the Preds! Next move for Nashville is to find a team to trade Turris to and free up more cap space to acquire another top 6 player(a winger like Lee, Ferland, Nyquist etc)

I saw this the other day. Not sure if the numbers are completely accurate, but probably not far off. This is a big reason why Montreal can't land bug name FAs.

Will say, I’m surprised most people don’t mind the salary. As someone who tends to like Duchene more than most, I think this is a pretty awful contract.
On the counter point, boy is Granlund/Duchene on your second line a massive upgrade from Fiala/Turris
