Yeap, this is another sign Bob to Florida is all but done.

Apparently Bob posted on his twitter account a photo of a handshake (or some such thing).

Carolina goes back to the well trying to turn a low-ranked goalie into a success story

Their D can make mediocre goalies look good, as they showed last year. This might be a good spot for Reimer actually.

It won't work with everyone and at some point they should invest in guys that have good chemistry with their group. Might be good for Reimer, might be another Darling...

It's really too bad Reimer has been on lousy teams his whole career. A career .914 isn't too terrible when you consider Price is a career .918 and often mentioned as one of the best goalies in the NHL. And some of his Habs teams were quite good.
    Perception is a funny thing.

I'm still trying to figure this out from Florida's perspective. They bought Darling out; wouldn't it have been cheaper to just buy out Reimer?

#FlaPanthers get a little cash savings and a little cap relief by buying out Scott Darling instead of James Reimer due to Reim’s signing bonus in 2020-21. A Reimer buyout would have been a cap hit of $3.2 in 20-21; Darling is $2.3 that year per

Yeah, but Reimer is cheaper the other three years, and by more of the difference from 2020-21. I suppose Florida is also anticipating the cap will go up, so they extra space they lose in the two following years is less worrisome.

I've heard (read) that buying out Darling saves them $900,000 in one specific year, and that was the reason for doing this. They pay more most years, but saving $900,000 in a specific year was important to them. Very odd, nonetheless. You'd think they'd find a way to save $900,000 some other way.

No matter what, it sounds like they are going to be right up against the cap, and the Bobrovsky signing alone won't do that to them. This makes me feel Panarin is likely joining the Panthers also.

According to capfriendly, cap hit over next four years: Panthers... 1.2, 2.3, 1.2 and 1.2. Canes... 3.4, 3.4, 0, 0.
So, Carolina pays a little more total and absorb a bigger blow first two seasons but are done quicker.
