He's not like Howard Hughes or something, collecting jars of piss in his private study, but he's an eccentric wealthy dude. He isn't a capitalist or anything, he's still a worker. He just happens to make an immense wage for his services that generate even greater wealth for the owners.

Like he’s not taking the trade seriously and his stuff isn’t in a U-haul ready to leave? I don’t get it. He’s a multi millionaire pro athlete. He has people for all that. I don’t think the Arizona organization is worried that he’s not going to be ready to move to AZ on time.

Has nothing to do with him taking the trade seriously... But, when a player with noted personality clashes/issues comes to your team and then it's revealed his media room only sits one chair - you could begin to wonder if he's a team player or a good teammate. Perception holds weight.

Personally, I think the room was packed and staged. Kessel & Bozak held regular parties in their condo when they were in Tor. That chair looks a little low class compared to the rest of the decor in the house as well. I really think Kessel's probably one of the least understood players to the public in the NHL due to how private he tries to keep himself.

Kessel is famously a great teammate. He's one of those guys that people just love to be around. He's a funny dude, and the guys in the room love him. He may not be a coaches' favorite, but everyone else is going to like this dude in Arizona.

I assume he's just joking about the serial-killer vibe the empty house gives off but as mentioned it's likely just a few things left behind as part of a piss-poor staging attempt.

it was an off handed comment jesting about the article - That Kessel is an isolationist, lonely person... that's what the picture/article was jestingly insinuating. No one wants a player that isn't a team player -- that's where the 'Yotes sake' comment resonated from... but all in jest as none of it is really true about Kessel. Malkin's just a grumpy pants

It was staged, but not in the way you are thinking. Apparently, the room was cleared out of all the furniture, but the real estate agent wanted to put a chair in there to give people a sense of how big the room was.
