me too...definitely...no question at all about that.

But every year the market shifts a little bit...if players like Laine and Connor are getting $7+ million this year, Keller will get more than that next year if he scores 65. He doesn't deserve it, but he will get it, unfortunately. Then as crazy as it sounds for a team always in financial trouble and never making the playoffs, but Arizona will actually be in cap trouble. That is just crazy. **** the market is so broken. The NHL is just ridiculous right now.

I think there's also some pressure on Chayka now... with a new owner.
He has to be thinking about his own job, looking busy.
And likely the new owner has already given Chayka a green-light to spend... so off he goes.

It wouldn't even surprise me if new owner is keen enough to speculate that Florida is going to sell in summer 2023...
And so ARI has to be a more marketable, sellable team for 2022 so they can beat FLA to the first buyer!!!

What's a big bonus for the Coyotes is that Kessel doesn't miss games. They were killed by injuries last yr so his durability has to be something desired by that team.

I'm hoping we see him in the top-six with Stepan or something. I think he's a good player, and definitely one of their more creative wingers, but there's going to be a lot of competition with guys like Dvorak, Crouse, Fischer, even Grabner. Maybe we will see something like this? This is just a shot in the dark, but:

    Keller-Schmaltz-Kessel
    Dvorak-Stepan-Hinostroza
    Crouse-Soderberg-Fischer
    Garland-Richardson-Grabner

Who knows how these lines shake out? There's also someone like Barrett Hayton who could be in the mix anywhere in that lineup. They certainly have a ton of options, but Kessel really brings a scoring element they were lacking to round out their team.

Dvorak being used primarily as a Centre by Arz. makes me wonder if they will move him to wing or just try to move him period. Seeing as they're right up hard to the cap now.

I was thinking that Arizona should go out and get Tyler Bozak, but his $5M cap hit is too much. Could have been reunited in the desert.

    Here's an update on Yahoo!
Since acquiring Phil Kessel, Arizona Coyotes season-ticket sales have shot up 600% compared to the same week last year.

Advice: Ticket sales overall are up 550% for the Coyotes. As you might imagine, the Kessel trade also led to a spike in website activity and social media engagement for the Coyotes. We had previously reported that the Kessel trade led to an increase in ticket sales for Arizona, but now we have an appreciation for just how big that spike has been. "It's certainly satisfying and exciting to see us doing something as a franchise that we feel makes us a much more competitive team and puts us in a better position to win," Coyotes CEO Ahron Cohen said. "The fact that other people in this market are seeing that, fans are seeing that, and they're jumping on board. It's good, positive momentum for this organization."

Really? By adding Kessel there is that much excitement? I mean, he's a good player and all, but can you imagine if they ever got a real bona fide superstar. Anyway, good news story for sure. The fans in 'Zona need some good news for a change.

    2x Cup Champion, b2b pt/gm+ seasons.
He and JVR were the darlings of the USA Olympic team six years ago - blistered competition.
Maybe not on the grand scheme of things does this look big, but when was the last time the Yotes had a player close to Kessel's stature.

this is like Rooney or Beckham coming to the MLS for them.

The arena capacity is 18,300 for a max capacity of the yr at 750,300.

They avg 13,989/game last yr (573,549/yr). And have been around 13,500 since the lockout, for a yearly attendance of 553,500/yr.

If they've sold 550% more tickets this week than July 2018 week, they went from selling 5,535 tickets for the season to 30,443 tickets (Or 4% of their total capacity for the season). Or 135 tickets/game to 743/game.

When they say a stat in just percentage, it typically means they started with a very low number. So yeah 550% is huge, but it's prolly not that big of an overal number.

That's just a guess/pulling everyone into thinking how it can be actually a small number.
