Its a bottom six for a bottom six but a lot of people seem to think Hartman is better than what he is. Personally, I prefer Pitlick to Hartman, when he can stay healthy.

Dallas is probably gambling on whatever upside Hartman has to try and increase their secondary scoring. Because they need that a lot.

This feels like two GMs trying to look active by swapping 3rd liners.
I agree... "meh".

Dallas isn't qualifying Hartman??? I'm so confused... Why trade for him?
Hartman 1. doesn't know he's been traded; 2. doesn't know he's becoming a UFA tomorrow.

As a Flyers fan, I've been watching--and monitoring--all of Fletcher's moves this summer, including the draft.
Overall, I think it's been so-so at best. Do Hayes, Niskanen, Braun and Pitlick make the Flyers a better, deeper team than last year? Sure. Did the Flyers add a ton of salary without adding a prime-time, legit star? Yep. I think Fletcher has added four solid, well-rounded players who are hard workers with character. All four are "the type of players coaches love" if that makes sense.
Even though the UFA period did not officially begin, I think the Flyers are pretty set, outside of adding a BU tender and re-upping a couple more RFA's.
If the Flyers are going to make a splash, it will need to be a massive hockey deal with good players (and salary) heading the other way. I don't see this happening.
I think the Flyers are rolling into 2019-20 with...
Giroux - Couturier - Konecny (RFA)
JVR - Hayes - Voracek
Lindblom - Patrick - Frost (or UFA)
Raffl - Laughton (RFA) - Pitlick
Provorov (RFA) - Niskanen
Gostisbehere - Braun
Sanheim - Myers
Hart

It's not just whether or not a series of moves makes a team better. Each team's goal is to be the best. Bad financial moves can put the team under a glass ceiling.

I agree 100%.
Personally, I am not of fan of Fletcher's offseason. I think the Hayes deal will be an albatross in 4 years--the last 3 years will be brutal.
The Niskanen and Braun moves don't hurt the Flyers long-term, but it's money that could have been better spent this summer. Pitlick for Hartman is meh, whatever.
I still don't like passing on Cole Caufield either--the Flyers have desperately needed a pure goal scorer for years--and they passed on him twice in the same draft. Caufield will score 40-45 goals in the NHL without question--write it down with a Sharpie.
