    Default Trouba vs werenski

    Trouba or Werenski?

Who do you have with more points over the next 2-3 years? Limited keeper and I have a chance at grabbing one of these guys from another team for peanuts.

I think Trouba is in a better situation to put up points over the medium term.

Can you grab both if they're cheap?

I like Weresnki's upide a little more of the two.

I like Werenski's skill set as a player better, but I think Trouba's situation could prove to be better for the short-term.

That said, over the long-term, I think Trouba will have some stiff competition for PP time from Fox and Miller. The PP will be Fox's calling card, so I think he ends up playing a big role there--and he's also a RHD. Short-term, I'm curious to see what the Rags do with Shattenkirk.

Werenski has Jones ahead of him as the top dog, but he still gets his points, and if he ever gets more PP time he could boost his production quite a bit.

Player vs. player, I go Werenski all day.

Probably, but D is my strength: Dahlin, Heiskanen, Giordano, OEL, Girard as my current keepers. I'd have to drop someone, likely Girard, or one of my prospects if I grabbed both of them. I could pick up one without losing anyone of significance really.

I would absolutely drop Girard for Werenski, that seems like a big upgrade. Girard is surrounded with studs that are going to impede his shot at PP time, and that's so important for fantasy Dmen.

I was just going to post this. Makar and Byram are studs. Even if Barrie gets dealt, or walks as a UFA next year, Makar fills those shoes immediately.

I think Werenski is just better in a vacuum, too. Then you factor in the much more favorable situation and route to important offensive minutes / deployment, it's a slam-dunk.

I'd take on both Trouba and Werenski and drop Girard in a second. Your defense would be totally stacked then, and you don't have to make the very difficult choice of choosing between Trouba and Werenski (coin flip, imo...both are very close in value).

Fair enough, now that I think about it I don't know why I was even considering keeping Girard.

Girard's a good player, but Makar is the top dog there (assuming Barrie will be dealt), and Byram will be a real good one.

I'd certainly want Girard in many leagues, but not at the expense of Trouba and/or Werenski.
