Very interesting to see what the 1st 15 picks look like.. I like Boldy early, same with Knight (if goalies matter a ton like in my league). My question is, and I love that Podkolzin fell to you, how high would you have taken him in your draft?!
I'm glad our draft is after the real NHL draft. Helps with knowledge of how patient teams will be with certain prospects. If Knight goes to a team with an already set goalie system then that should hurt his immediate fantasy value

*Interesting pre and post NHL draft contrasts between our draft and JP's as he posted above. Lots of value added into the 20s, 30s and 40s, I think.

So I added Knight, Sogaard, Dorofeyev and Lacombe
With this league's depth, I expect a majority of those picked after 36 to be dropped for some teams. Hence why you might see some odd picks for teams that don't care.

Wrapped up round 1 in the Dynasty league in my signature yesterday. I was fortunate to win the draft lottery and fortunate again when Podkolzin fell to me at #10. I also picked up Tomasino at 20 this morning and I'm quite excited to see how he steps up in St. Kitts next season with several of their best players leaving. I'll post the complete draft when we wrap up but here's the first 20 off the board.

Its fun to find the guys who dont get drafted highly but I find when guys "slip" in the draft, that we expect to go higher, there's usually a good reason for it. We may never know the reason why, but there's a reason. I tend to avoid those guys in draft. Someone knows something we don't.
If Dorfeyev was as good as WE think he is, he would have got drafted higher. It's not like he was an unknown. That's my opinion on him.

Not sure I agree with this.
Veleno, Tolvanen & DeBrincat are examples of prospects that "slipped" in their draft year. Many NHL Gm's have a bias (size) towards players or draft for positional need or draft to avoid the "Russian" factor.
These are just a few examples of why players "slip" in the draft - there are several more - and none of these have anything to do with their skillset.

All due respect, but what has Veleno or Tolvanen done to prove it was a mistake that they slipped? Debrincat slipped due to his size, which we are now seeing isn't an issue anymore and teams are willing to draft the smaller guys due to the way the NHL has gone.
By all means, feel free to draft them. I am simply stating MY opinion on him. No one says I am right 100% of the time, but all I am saying is that actual NHL scouts and GMs have more info than we do. We as fantasy GMs draft on our own principles and those are usually different from actual NHL GMs and scouts.
