Gio vs Jones

Debating between keeping Giordano or Seth Jones.
League drafting strategy is split between 4-5 teams that draft very young and 4-5 teams that draft best player available.
I am still in win now mode but always looking to stay competitive in future years.
My first pick of the draft will be 20th overall (so 90th after the 70 keepers).
Stick with Gio after his Norris season or go younger with Jones?

Jones.
Gio is 36 at the start of the season. Plus he gives less hits, blocks than Jones.
Any team would take Jones regardless if win now or in future. He's a consideration for Norris at some point in time himself.
I would take Jones for sure.
One-year League i'd be fine with Gio, but in a keeper, and given Gio will be 36 in October...I'd roll with Jones.
Yes, Gio is damn good but...Jones is on his way as well.

Thanks for the insight Hockeytown! Jones always has me worried with Werenski lurking around. If Jones loses the PP1 spot he takes a pretty big hit.

Yeah, I want Jones here too.
I mean, Giordano will probably outproduce him again next season, but it is by far a guarantee. At 36, Giordano just had the best year of his career and a regression is almost certain. I don't see the gap being all that big between Giordano and Jones, even if Giordano has the better season again. However, it is very possible Jones leap frogs Giordano this coming season. If not, two years from now (when Giordano is 38) I'd put huge money on Jones being the more productive player.

There has to come a time where GIO fails starts to drop off. That time is sooner and holds more of an impact than Jones With/Without Werenski breathing down his neck and/or dealing with a little PP1 to PP2 turbulance.
