Puljujarvi Requests Trade From Oilers

Jesse Puljujarvi has made it clear to the Edmonton Oilers he wants to be traded. He wants a fresh start to his young NHL career. It’s believed the Oilers are willing to accommodate, but won’t give him away and intend on being patient in finding a right fit.

Not really surprising this has been brewing for a long time and the Oilers have likely been trying to move him for awhile. This cannot help his trade value however.

Going to be hard to move him I think.

Oilers aren't selling low on him. They still see him as a potential top 6. They aren't in a hurry to move him either. Pulj just had double hip surgery, but should be ready for training camp, but in what shape.

I think this is going to drag, or he gets moved with Lucic.

Hasn't he already seen a few new HC and new GM lol. They are running at a rate of about 1 new head coach every 10 months.

At the end of the day, Puljujarvi has little negotiating power here. Holland will do his due diligence and listen to offers, but he is in no rush to make a move if it doesn't make sense. I think the best thing to do is hold him, let him go play in Europe (or the KHL) and hope his game comes around and improves his value for the Oilers.

This just not a good time to trade him for a lowball offer just because Puljujarvi wants to be traded.

I like it... my only concern is the ongoing connection of Brown to a Zaitsev move. If Tor can move Zaits without Brown.. then for sure.

I do worry about Tor making move after move adding a prospect or pick to each to make moves. That depletes the cupboards fast.
