what makes this even odder is Pasquale signing with the KHL today. And with no issues reported out of Kamloops with Ingram everything just screams odd about this situation.

Is there not a rule that NHL teams must always have 3 goalies under contract?

The Lightning have 3 right now but will not have three as of June 30th with Pasquale's contract expires.

This is correct. The CBA dictates the Lightning must sign 2 goalies in the next 16 days.
