    Default Expectation for Tolvanen

Hi! What do you expect for Tolvanen next year? I have to keep one between Tolvanen and Kaprizov.... i know that Kaprizov will not play this year but i’m afraid to let go Tolvanen and regret it! So what’s the expectation in pts for him next year?

Yikes. Is your farm that good that you have to lose one of Tolvanen or Kaprizov? I have both on my farm too.

We have to keep 2 players each year and gave them a contract up to 5 years or less
My options are Jokiharju (keep because def is rare), and the others are Kaprizov, Tolvanen, Kapanen, Dzingel. But we are in a salary cap league and i don’t have a lot of money to spend, so i won’t keep Kapanen and Dzingel because they are RFA an resign this summer. That let me Kapri and Tolvy

I really don't expect much from Tolvanen this year. I expect Nashville to let him develop in the AHL; the Predators have a very deep team.

Surely you can trade one of them as opposed to an outright drop?

I'd probably gamble on Kaprizov - I expect neither will do much year....and after that, I just have the feeling Kaprizov will have an easier path...

Can you not just call up Joki and then keep Kaprizov and Tolvanen in the minors? Or trade one of them instead of losing one?

I’d be keeping both off them. Call up Jokiharju and drop Butcher.

We don’t have a farm. We just have reserve. I can’t trade. The only way is drop one of them...

I'd also drop Butcher for Joker.

That said, there's no guarantee Tolvanen produces anything this year. he's not guaranteed a slot anywhere with Nsh. He's going to have to earn it.

One thing I've noticed with the majority of prospects... they take 1-2 years longer to produce meaningful stats than owners would like.
Take Necas last year... a forum favourite with the 'Canes.... instead spent the season in the AHL... who knows if he'll even play 60 games with the Canes this season

    Tolvanen fits that mold

If you must drop one I would let go of tolvanen myself. He had the one really strong year in the KHL but I'm not overly impressed with his numbers in the ushl or AHL.

Kaprizov had a bit of a disappointing year but still led the KHL in goals

    Tough situation though

im also dropping Butcher...if you can. he puts up decent numbers but only on the PP which isnst a sign of a great producer IMO. of teh 30 points he produced this year 14 of them were on the PP..tells me if hes not on teh PP, hes not producing much else..

Tolvanen has been overrated and overhyped for some time now. Every time I've watched him play, he screams "great talent who thinks he can succeed without much effort." That works anywhere except the NHL.
He will never be an impact player over here.

I have Tolvanen Necas and Kaprizov on my team as well and can only keep 2. Right now I'm trying to make room to keep all of them, so I can understand how you feel about yours.
Tolvanen is the only great forward prospect left in NSH, I'm afraid they'll keep him to marinate in the AHL to begin the year. He really has to force their hands but if he does I expect 45pts.
Kaprizov = the wait is about to end most likely, he should finally come over and I think we can expect Dadonov numbers, with potential for more if the stars align.

Basically it's going to hurt a lot if you can't redraft any of them or make room on your main roster. I don't like dropping players with as much potential.

Maybe, just maybe, NHL scouts and GMs knew something when he dropped in the 1st round of his draft.

I'm not saying the kid is useless but maybe hes just not as good as many seemed to think, especially in fantasy hockey land.
