Parayko's 4th year actually was a drop in production after hovering solidly around 35 for his first 3 seasons.

Any chance he can develop into a solid 40+ pt guy soon? Curious on people's opinions on his offensive potential.

    Deployment.

Colton are you PP1 or are you off the PP tonight entirely?

I don't have much hope as long as they have Pietr and Dunn : Dunn probably had the most PP time this year and Parayko seldom appeared on the PP unfortunately...

I agree that Dunn is a threat to Parayko's ice time, but I think he really seized his opportunity in the playoffs and could stick with the time he earned. After AP, Colton was clearly the go-to on the Blues these past two months. Case in point, and I know Dunn's injury factored into things, but these are averages, not overalls:

    Pietrangelo GP 26 PPTOI 2:44 SHTOI 1:45 EVTOI 21:16 Total 25:45
    Parayko GP 26 PPTOI 1:36 SHTOI 1:21 EVTOI 22:03 Total 25:07
    Dunn GP 20 PPTOI 1:39 SHTOI 0:05 EVTOI 13:25 Total 15:10

So, Dunn has the 3 second advantage. And admittedly, I'd have to dig deeper to see how leaving the game early/playing hurt affected Dunn later, but give me 9 minutes per game at even strength over 3 extra seconds of PP time.

No guarantee that it continues, but I get the feel that Berube & co. have grown much more comfortable with the idea of Parayko being a "big-minute" defender.

One thing to remember... this was Dunn's rookie season. Often those PP #'s just increase as the player grows.

The potential is certainly there, and he will get bits and pieces of PP time here and there, but he won't get it consistently enough to be 40+ pt dman on a regular basis. Pietrangelo and Dunn are in his way.

Do the 75 games he played last year not count for some reason? Dunn had a full season of AHL action and has played two seasons with the Blues, he's not exactly an unknown quantity. But yes, he's liable to grab some more PP time going forward, agreed.

I think he is pigeon holed as a number 2 pp option so I’m not sure I see him a regular threat to exceed 40
