they can be like arizona and take your crappy contract nhl player for a pick for this season + next!

its really too bad seattle didnt take the high end options available to them at the expansion draft. tarasenko, price were available. duchene and johansen also even though they were coming off down years with much money on the books.

    at least theyre rebuilding now?

I'd call it building! Can't re-build something that was never built

I'd still call it building. Part of the first few years has always been churning players, in any sport. Vegas was an anomaly.

Sounds like the CHL has agreed to allow Shane Wright to play in the AHL instead of the CHL if he doesn’t make the Kraken

So I dont mean to hijack this thread but I was going to make a seperate thread and I sort of gigured the MOST knowledgable ppl on the Seattle situation will get notified if I post here- lol! With that out of the way- Im curious about what the sort of not quite short term outlook is on Seattles top six. I think next year will be a transition year and a lot will depend on how a lot of the young guys fare in the NHL this season. So I guess Im looking TWO- maybe ThHREE years down the line. Selfishly thats when my contention window really kicks into gear- and Ive got a few Kraken and potential access to a few more via draft, steal and trade- haha!

Back on point- in a couple years how do we see the top six panning out? Ill give my hot take:

    McCann (Catton long term)/Wright/Tolvanen
    Beniers/Stephenson/Bjorkstrand
*Leaves a lot of very good quality "swing guys"on the third line who can both mentor the young guys AND swap in when someones not pulling their weight. Without exploring a 4th line we could reasonable guess that a third line would look like:
Eberle/Gourde(Needs to resign- maybe plop Kartye here)Schwartz (expenxive on the 3rd line at 5.5 but hes UFA after that- if hed take a team friendly hes still a great fit here)

Is that too much hype for Tolvanen/Wright? What are we thinking? Not enough for Bjoprkstrand/McCann? I like Stephenson on this team but I am NOT a fan of that contract. If hes your 2c every year- then fine- Im in. BUT if hes a 2/3 swing guy (as I imagine he will be)- youre really paying a premium. You can pull it off because Wright and Beniers are price controlled for awhile but not a great precedent to set. Im happy hese here- but I see future consternation. This is a conflicting signimg...
    Weekly hth league- 2c, 3w,1 ff (forward only flex), 4d, 1g, and one true flex. Sog/goal weighted for skaters: G4, A3, Sog1, PPP+1. +/- adds/minuses one for F/3 for D. Workhorse starters = GOLD!

We are a full dynasty keeper BUT we only protect 8 (9 if you miss playoffs)- which means that you can lose ONE player outside that range each year to the steal round.
C- Hughes(J), Crosby, McMichael, Buchnevich (C/W), Carlsson (Frm), Wright (Frm)
W- Marchand, Lafreniere, Zetterlund, Michkov, Stankoven, Slafzilla, Tolvanen
D- Werenski, Clarke, Carlsson, Orlov, Hughes (L)
G- Swayman, Sorokin, Kuemper, Fedotov, Nabokov (Frm)
