for as old as he is my money is still on Lundy from that group, then Crow, then (assume) its Smith.

im not going near Allen, although Binnington has shown some weaknesses. Anderson will be the starter, but the team is awful, Talbot is a hard pass for me

Crawford if you need something now, Sorokin if you can sit on him.

Smith or McElhinney makes a good transitional piece as they shouldn't be paid too much, but will have decent numbers.

Depends a lot on how the goalie FAs work out but I'm leaning towards Crawford/Lundy off that list. Might even take a chance on Schneider though give the lack of talent available. If McElhinney ends up in a timeshare back in Carolina with another Mrazek type tender, I would consider him as well.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

Why does everyone think Lundy and his contract are a good own? He will start 45-50 games, not do excellent, and cost over $8M! I feel like I would rather take my chances at half the cost and use the rest of the savings towards something productive.

Trust me, I really don't like Lundqvist for the reasons you mention. However, of the options listed, I he is the best option in a list of bad options. Crawford is #2 on my list only because of the health issues. If he was healthy, he'd be a clear-cut #1 for me. Anderson is a decent option, but I feel Ottawa will be among the worse teams in the league. I suppose he costs less, but my gut says he will play even fewer games than Lundqvist and the Sens will be a weaker team than the Rangers.

No matter how you look at it, this is an ugly list. By endorsing Lundqvist, I'm not saying that I even remotely believe he is a good own.

I see your point, but even with that I still think he's closer to the bottom of the list for me than the top.
I would rather buy a cheaper lottery ticket and a slice of pizza (I'm hungry), than a more expensive ticket that has a lower pot but a higher chance of winning.

    Schneider is the easy choice.

I expect a bounce back season. by him and the Devils as a whole

I wouldn't touch Lundqvist and that big salary. I wont be surprised to see him as a sharetime goalie next year at best with Georgiev.

Schneider might not be a bad option. I too think he bounces back this year but that's no more than a suspicion on my part.

Isn't this year Craig Anderson's good year coming up? We all know he's good one year, sucks the next, good one year, sucks the next, etc... If I am not mistaken, this year coming up is his good year. He would probably be who I went with here simply because you know you will get starts and he's cheaper compared to the rest. I don't think Ottawa will be nearly as bad as many seem to think but again, simply a sneaky suspicion on my part.
