Undrafted but put up 59 goals and 109 points in 68 games in the OHL this past year (as an overager). The Stars have signed him to a 3 year ELC. Anyone have a read on him?

I really thought Toronto had signed him mid-season. A guy in one of my leagues added him right afterward.

I know he was invited to a Leafs rookie tryout camp in 2016... but this was like Mid-Jan 2019 I remember seeing the Leafs ink him.
So odd.

Much better opportunity for him in Dallas.
They lack elite forward prospects. There's a lot of mid-6 talent, if he can progress well, there's room for him to edge his way in.

I'd still think 2yrs before any real impact potential.
A lot of overage UFA signees don't become superstars.
If I were in a 14tm 20 prospect pool or smaller I'd probably be looking for a higher end prospect to add.
