That's intriguing. Not sure there's a lot of value here though, for an NHL GM or fantasy.
He really dropped off this past year with 14 points in 49 games after 33 in 55 the year before in the KHL. Last NHL season was 2016-2017 where he put up 36 points.

Third pair, PP2, mentor type for a team that has a lot of young guys on the back end. Like Philly for instance.
Also could be a bunch of BS from his camp trying to extract more from a KHL club.

I guess it would depend on his willingness to play a depth role and not be featured as much as he was a few years ago.

I agree with the premise, but Philly doesn't fit. They have 6 guys under contract for next year, plus two RFAs in Sanheim and Provorov, plus Myers simmering in the minors biding his time until there's a spot.Originally Posted by Doug Glatt

I know there’s a few teams speculated but for those looking for a mention I’m not sure there’s room and for those for a veteran presence I’m not sure it meets their needs/that there isn’t better options as generally they have pp quarterbacks.. but stranger things have happened

Not sure if that is true now, but it was true when he left. The mother of his children (who all lived in Russia) died a few years back, and he was either going to bring them to Montreal or go play in Russia. There was never another option. Not sure if that has changed.
As well, when he left the NHL, I don't believe he had an agent. Is he still representing himself?

Andrei Markov’s agent Sergei Isakov confirmed to the Russian press agency TASS that his client plans to play at least one more season. Doesn’t know where yet, but sounds like he’s open to an NHL return.
