    The Great One

Default ROOS LETS LOOSE POLL: Most Impactful non-Tier 1 UFA

With the number of teams still left in the Stanley Cup hunt, many poolies are already looking ahead to July 1st, when UFAs will be free to sign with any club. Of course the most focus will be on "tier 1" UFAs like Erik Karlsson, Sergei Bobrovsky, Artemi Panarin, Matt Duchene, Jeff Skinner and Joe Pavelski; however, other UFAs can - and will - make an impact as well. So I figured let's see who you think will make the most impact out of these non-tier 1 UFAs in 2019-20.

Note that when I say most impact, I don't necessarily mean the highest points or for goalies the most wins, as in some cases a player's impact is indirect, such as by making players around him even better. Keep that in mind when voting. Also, since this is a poll to determine the most impactful non-tier 1 UFA, I'm only letting everyone vote once. Also, I'm talking about impact just in 2019-20, not over the course of their entire contract.

Go ahead and vote now, or wait until my column comes out on Wednesday to see more details about the players included as voting choices.

Have fun, and see you back here for another poll/tournament in a month. For now, if you have any questions for my fantasy mailbag you can always send them to me here via a private message or email then with the heading "Roos Mailbag"to [email protected].

It was tight for me between Zucc, Lee, and Lehner. Ultimately went Lehner due to the impact that he could have on a new team. For example, Calgary with Lehner's goaltending through the playoffs would have likely been a different story.

I had to go with Lehner here, just because he's a really good goaltender and that is far more likely to have a significant impact on a club than a slightly above average skater will.

For non-goalies I was torn between Ferland and Zuccarello. If Zucc stays with Dallas, I think he has a significant impact but if he goes to a deeper team, it would be less. The same can be said for Ferland although I think he stays with Carolina. Would love to see him in Boston thoug

Strong goaltending is the difference from October-December Blues, and January-May Blues. AKA, last place in the West to potential Western Conference representative in the Stanley Cup Final. That's why I picked Lehner.

I think with Lehner's mental stability in NYI, I think he stays, so the biggest impact of Lehner would be him leaving or staying in NYI. He leaves, Greiss better step up, and I don't think he does for the full season.

I agree with Lehner and Zucc but edler could also be a big piece for the right team, although he may just resign in Van making it less interesting.

Anders Lee and Zucc I think, as of right now, would have the same impact as each other. Depending where the sign would be what tips it one way or another.

Although goalie is the most impactful position (thinking Lehner) I went with Lee. I think he would be a huge add for any team, whereas Lehner only has a few landing spots realistically. I think both probably stay though

Gave both Lehner and Varlamov serious consideration, but went with a big defenseman in Tyler Myers thinking someone's going to overspend big time...which means that they will end up playing the crap out of him trying to justify the contract to the fans and media.

Lehner. He ends up in a good spot - Columbus/Calgary and gets the lions share of work. Comes close to repeating this past season and gets more Vezina consideration

I voted Jake Gardiner for more long term effect - Whichever team he ends up signing with better hope they don’t play in a Game 7 while they have him under contract.
