Trade for Larkin?

An offer is on the table that I'm leaning towards to acquire Larkin, see below.
I'm coming off a championship year and want to add Larkin as a young seasoned multi-cat center. Current team, league and categories in signature.

Larkin is rated 12th for my league setup of all skaters.
Is the deal below fair or too much to give up?
I know Fox is a highly regarded offensive dman and am Ok moving him in the deal due to my current D corps. What is everyone's thoughts on Veleno? Will he eventually slot in as Detroit's 2C below Larkin or does he posses the upside to take the #1C job? I know he had a great year in the QMJHL!

I'm not sure this deal makes a lot of sense for you. You're loaded up front at C. Larkin would be your 4/5 C. If he qualifies as a RW... he's behind Kuch & arguably Radulov and on par with hertl.

With Burs, Byf, Weber, EJ.. all aging. I'd argue you need Fox coming up more than Larkin.

I don't see how this deal really benefits you or fills any holes

Personally I would do it based on value, as you're gaining value plus condensing it into one asset.
Luca is onto something though, as you would probably then have to trade a C for a D. But that's usually manageable.

On value alone I do this trade. But yeah be aware you'll have some shuffling around do do afterwards.

I like the deal, but will echo what others are saying.

After acquiring Larkin, I'd look at dealing a center for some depth at other positions.

I can see mixed responses coming. IMO.. his upside took a huge boost with this past yr in the Q. He finally broke out. I think Bo Horvat is a pretty good comparable to him. I think he's got 70+ upside. but I'd expect a 3+yr curve to get there.

If he's offering that to you, I'd take it. I'd bet you can move other pieces around, and fill in the empty slots with more value.

I don't think Veleno takes the #1 job from Larkin.

You could always make the deal to get a bit younger at center then see if you can move an older guy like Backstrom to reinforce another position (or replenish some prospects)

Looks like the deal won't happen and it's prob not a bad thing so I can keep some great high upside prospects.
He pulled the original offer the other night and came back with below, way too much IMO:
