    Default Americans...

Hey boys, so everyone and their dog knows that this is draft has some high end American kids that'll own the top 10 (so it seems). Of all the rankings and mocks I've looked at, the 'more or less' consensus seems to be something like:

    Hughes
    Turcotte
    Zegras
    Boldy
    Caufield

Yet, looking at the current U18, maybe it looks more like:

    Hughes (still at the top)
    Caufield
    Boldy
    Turcotte
    Zegras (not producing much...)

So I'm seeing some difference here. Does the U18 change people's opinion of the rankings? If so, how much?

    Thanks.

I don't have much to offer in terms of rankings or extra info but I'm definitely not a believer in short tournaments changing outlooks on players. It will change people's opinions even though it shouldn't.

I agree with ericdaoust in that a short tournament doesn't necessarily mean much...that said, there is a difference between ranking for the NHL draft and ranking for fantasy hockey. Hughes is at the top in both sort of lists, but Caufield imo is the real wildcard. In the NHL draft, I could see him drop down the list, but in fantasy hockey, he is the type of player I'd draft early. I'm not saying he will be Gaudreau (or Debrincat, etc.), but he is that style of player and could be a fantasy darling if it all pans out for him.

I don't really feel there is much of a consensus among Turcotte, Zegras, and Boldy. I've seen those players ranked many different ways. Personally, I'd put Turcotte above the other two, but it is hard to say.
