Oh oh. Andrei's older brother Evgeni, who plays for Detroit, is out to avenge his brother against Ovechkin. Ok then. lol

Just got to see this video, and it looks like Svechnikov asked him to go after they had been chippy with each other. Usually you want to get the other team's best guy off the ice, but 5 minutes versus roughly 45 minutes including injury isn't a good trade, and he may miss more games.

I didn't realize it had been so long since Ovechkin last had a fight, honestly.

Pretty sure Crosby has been in more fights technically.

It's really not that Ovi was amazing, it was Svech was is so bad at fighting. He like closed fist slapped Ovi like twice, and didn't protect himself at all. And Ovi just has old man strength now. But Svech should take some boxing classes before he tries that again.

It that really what Cherry said? Lol. I was busy so I missed it live but watched later on. I was torn by this a bit, I am a big Ovi fan but I don't like seeing people get hurt, more so when there pretty much just kids. On the other end he did want to go me Tie Domi, so at your own risk. What was the last Ovi fight? He's not much of a fighter, hardly ever mixes it up. Maybe he's not challenged often.

Senile, delusional nationalist sees two Russians fight, sings O Canada

I see more fights in the KHL these days than Bettman's new sissy league.

New league means less tragic situations down the road, but that's a discussion for another day.

I get that, to an extent. Removing the cheap shots and dangerous plays during game action is a great thing that helps all players. But the guys who choose to fight should be allowed the freedom to do so. The league is a lesser place without guys like John Scott and Biznasty, IMO.
