Shesterkin need to play some NA games to get acclimatized so some time in AHL wont hurt him.

I agree. They say loyalty can be a bad thing but in Hanks case, all he's given to that team, I don't think they would. I'm sure he'd love to win a Cup but I do admire him wanting stick with the team that put so much trust into him. Good or bad, he's proven he's a team guy 1st. If that makes sense.

Kravtsov has apparently exercised the out-clause in his contract and is heading back to the KHL for the time being.
Can confirm @NYP_Brooksie report that Vitali Kravtsov is signing with his old KHL team, Traktor Chelyabinsk. He can be recalled by the Rangers at anytime. Rangers are OK with this.

I dont think anyone was surprised by this announcement today. He really hasn't quite found his stride in the AHL and is probably just as well off to go back and continue his development in Russia for the time being. Hopefully, when he comes back, he will have found his game again.

For discussion on Kravtsov decision: meh.
I think the Rangers realize that him deciding to do what he feels is best for him is a good thing.
As for Kravtsov's actual "value" at.this.point... this is what irks me about Craig Button... who has ranked guys like Kravtsov and Denisenko at the the top of his prospects list last year...
Like, if these guys can't come over and make an impact in even the AHL... not sure they should be ranked above Makar, Glass, Necas, Hughes, etc.
Button puts too much stock in the WJC, IMO.
And maybe too much stock in the KHL - which, IMO, is inferior league to AHL.
Button was pretty much the only "big name" prospect guy that put them above Makar/Hughes.
I thought that was a bit outlandish or click-baity... but wasn't merit-able, IMO.

Well also consider that Button is bad. That factors into it a lot.
