Sounds like absolutely horrible offers for Kuch despite the cap issue. Why not keep Kuch and drop those garbage players who are up for new contracts.
League in sig.
With Fiala, Vrana, and Compher up for new contracts, I need to find a way to free up another 6M or so. After crunching some numbers, Kuch is actually one of the worse performers on my team in terms of production to cap used. So despite being a top point producer, it is tempting to move on, especially since I'm not sure if we can expect this level of insaneness again.
This is the offer I am considering sending out. My Kucherov (7.35fp/g) @ 9.5M for Danault (5.25fp/g) @ 3.083M + Q. Hughes @ 1.6M + 2nd Overall Rookie pick (so Hughes or Kakko) @ ~3.75M
The other offer I received was Kucherov for Ehlers (4.1fp/g) @ 6M + Donato @ ? + Vilardi + 16th and 31st overall rookie picks. Rejected that one since I don't think the value was there, plus it doesn't free up enough cap.

I would pay for my studs and trim fat from elsewhere on my roster.
that 2nd offer is awful. Instant reject. I'd be curious to know how many players are over 7fpt/gm. You need all surefire studs coming back in return for Kuch. Danault is not that. I don't really care what his fpt/gm output last year was. A.
Kuch is one of the best value elite forwards - not on an entry level deal - in your league. McDavid, Tavares, Crosby, Stamkos, Kane.
I'd rather try to move Letang for prospect/picks.
Kucherov is like a discounted McDavid in your league, who plays wing.

So Kuch is the 3rd best wing with my stats

Cap leagues aren't simply dollars per point. The goal is to maximize your output, not maximize your efficiency (otherwise you end up with a bunch of cap bargains and a mediocre overall roster). So yeah it makes sense to pay your studs given how much they offer towards the goal of maximizing output. Fill the gaps with ELC guys and other cap bargains. It's not an easy balancing act but I'm more concerned with Fiala/Vrana/Compher being overpaid for your scoring format.

Easier said than done finding elcs in a 31 team league. I think I have this next season then my window will close as Krug, Hoffman, Faksa, Kreider, and Gudas will be up for new contracts that I don't think I'll be able to afford. At this point cap space is my rare resource not talent which is why I am trying to maximize it as much as possible. Way I see it, if I can maximize my efficiency as you put it, while still spending to the cap that should give me a contending team.

If you really want to move Kucherov that badly then go for it.

Why not see if you can make a Kucherov for Pastrnak + deal or something like that, rather than take such a massive production hit.
The thing is. You're taking 7.3 fpt/gm out of your line up and your return is going to take 2-4 players to fill it. That becomes a much more significant downgrade on your overall roster than you think.
I would be trying move move away from Fiala in Minn. I think he gets paid the most - look what the Wild paid to get him. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 5.5+ for 6yrs for him.
Analogy for you -
When dealing with high end, juicy meat. There's always fat that can be trimmed off (see Prime Rib, NY Striploin, Rib Eye) Trim the fat. Don't throw out the red meat because the cut is too large.

I think you would regret trading Kucherov just to keep those other mid-level players. Screw that and those offers are garbage too.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League
25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt
Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink
G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger
"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
I'll regurgitate what a couple guys have said. Keep Kuch, trim the fat.
Sure it's unlikely he hits 120+ points again next season, but any betting man would put money on him hitting 100+ again. You don't just replace 100 pt players with bargain bin talent.
Offer 2 is garbage, but offer 1 seems okay - I'm just unsure about Danault keeping up that pace in your league. However, I feel like I've commented on your team or a similar one before. It's due to a surprising number of end of roster Isles forwards, so I will ask:
How do those highly paid low-end Islanders forwards on your team compare in fantasy points per game per contract million?
I suspect they are roster fat.

I don't think it's crazy to consider trading him, I just wouldn't do it for the deals on the table. I'd also suggest that while Kucherov's deal is hefty (tied for 12th highest cap hit next season), it should age well with the cap increasing and new free agents signing deals. By July 2nd he should be around the 16th highest cap hit and falling further from the top as years pass by.
