My favourite band of all-time is The Tragically Hip, and I would imagine they have more HNIC opening themes than any other band. I will never forget Game 6 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final opening, Blow At High Dough. I remember it so clearly. I was at my borther's place, who is a huge Bruins fan. This one sticks out the most to me I think because well, The Hip obviously, but also because this was one of my favourite Cup Finals to be apart of. I watched every game with my brother and was experiencing the excitement vicariously through him. I'm one of those guys that cheers for every Canadian team in the playoffs (sans Habs), but couldn't bring myself to cheer against Boston this particular series. Anyways, without rambling on any further, here it is....




Coincidentally, my second favourite HNIC opener is also connected to The Hip and my brother. I remember it was announced that the new Hip song would debut as the opening theme on HNIC but I coudln't watch it because it was my brother's wedding. I PVR'd it and must've watched it over and over again about 50 times the next morning.... (this still fits the thread because it was also a play-off game)

There was one before a Penguins playoff game a few years ago with Enter Sandman that was really good too. Anyone remember that one? Will look for it some more but can't find it.
