I hold #1 pick in one pool. Why do I feel so underwhelmed taking Hughes in NJ or even Kakko in NYR??
Is this disappointment even justified?

Whoever Colorado picks 4th will be walking into a nice setup. Will be interesting if the temptation to take the D Byram will overcome the opportunity to draft a really good 2C that is shaping up at that spot. Chicago getting a dynamic top 6 forward here who will be under team control for a while is extremely fortuitious.

Hmm. I wonder if Chicago is a top 2 market for the NHL, I'd think they have to be at best third behind NYC & Toronto, but I'd put them 4th behind Quebec - I consider it one market now. Maybe you meant of the markets in the lottery. The Devils are only somewhat in the NYC market, though. I do think Chicago is bigger than LA as far as hockey market, even though they are behind in population.

Hockey is not as big a deal in LA, it doesnt have a lot of "share." Hawks have a ton of share in Chicago. I think that puts them as the No.2 hockey market. The cost of advertising dollars in those markets is going to be higher than in Canada, which is of prime consideration when a network bids on broadcast rights.

I mean, I know you just want a reason to be bitter, but that’s just weak man. The lottery obviously isn’t rigged, it’s kinda farcical to even bring something like that up at this point.
