Trade Conditions

I just made a trade with some ridiculous trade conditions and got be wondering if anyone else has tried to sway trades in any directions with condtions?

The trade in question:

I sent: Binnington
I received: 2019 5h round prospect pick

Conditions:

*1 - If he plays the majority of games for his team it becomes a 4th
*2 - If he wins 20 games it becomes a 3rd
*3 - If he is in the top 15 of goalie fantasy score, as per fantrax, it becomes a 2nd
*4 - If he is nominated for the Vezina it becomes a 1st
*5 - If he wins the Vezina it becomes two 1st

Picks are replaced by next most available per GM.
As a higher pick condition is met, the lower ones are ignored.

I think the majority of leagues don't allow conditions. Or just don't bother.

I hope you've got some stacked G's in that league. Otherwise, you've sent him off for pennies on the dollar. Most likely you get a 2nd in return for him. For a top 15 goalie? That's a cheap price.

I've got Price and Hellebuyck.

It's a 10 team league and most GMs only keep 1 goalie, so I had to get creative.
Lehner only netted me a 5th, also.

Somethings better than nothing.

I don't use conditions or futures for our keeper league. Mainly because I run it and don't have the time to monitor haha.

That makes the conditions make way more sense. Agreed, no way you keep him over those two.
I still see a 2nd in your future.
Assuming you use league settings to determine whether he's a top 15 goalie or not?

I think those are fair conditions. I’d only expect conditions 1 and 2 to maybe be met, with a slim chance of condition 3 as well.

I don’t play in any leagues that use conditions although it would be fun but too much to manually track. I also do not play in leagues where draft picks that are more than a year away are tradable. Just seems too much of a potential league killer.

Exactly, it's the fantrax scoring system to rank them.

It's a league I've been running for about 10 years now with the same set of guys.
We're all pretty solid and reliable.

I post a message in the league message board that will always be there historically as well as a post in our league FB group.
Not horrible to track, but it is an extra layer to factor in.
