I'm going to disagree with everyone.
For the next 3-4 years - Kessel. Period.
Here's why:
3 years is as far ahead as you should care about
Kessel plays a style of hockey that trends towards sustainable production...
some say he's soft, others will point to him playing smart
He hasn't missed A SINGLE GAME in 9 SEASONS -- NINE!!
Stone has never played 82. He won't this year either.
Stone has never hit 80pts in a single season,
Kessel is about to for the 3rd time... also have 52 in 48 during lock out season.
Kessel is plug and play - period. Lock down 70+ points.
Stone seems to be trending that way, but you're going to miss 5-15 games a season with him.
Given they're similar in pt/gm this season --
give me the guy that will play the extra 5-15 games.
Whoever you replace Stone with when he gets injured - won't match Kessel's output.
Over the next 3 seasons, I'd put money down that Kessel produces MORE POINTS than Stone.
Stone 'might' have the better pt/gm over that span... but IR will get him. It always does

This is the most surprising thing I've read on the forums this year. I'm guessing he's the NHL's current iron man, which is weird because I would've thought it would've come up at some point during a game broadcast I was watching.Originally Posted by lucafen4
