Default Makar in the 1st round

    Hey guys
As you can se my league has 25 rosterspots and 22 keeper (top 5 drop/top 10 drop and any player i want)

So a few top 5 drops would be

    Landeskog
    Zibanejad
    Larkin
    Bergeron
    Nurse
    Radulov
    Gallagher
    Mark Stone
    Josh Anderson
and mine would be Atkinson or Giordano!?

    1.which one would you drop?

2.i really want to draft Cale Makar this year!
Would you draft him in the first round?is he worth it?
(My pick is #10 because i‘ll win this year)
What do u think is his ceiling pointwise?
What do you expect from him in hits/blocks?

    Thanks for your input guys

Can you expand on how the drop works? Are those guys listed the ones around the league that would be available?

Who on your roster do you actually need to decide between to drop?

As for Makar, with those names and others available, I would not take him at 10.

Generally, it takes a long time for most young D-men to emerge in HIT/BLK.
So - while Makar could have that upside, it won't be for 3-4 years.
Especially since COL has some pretty big D-men that play those roles.

Your top5 drop is definitely Atkinson.
Giordano IS a top 10 D-men in this format.
I'm really kicking myself for not anticipating him to possibly have the year he's having after CGY cleared Hamilton's minutes out.

    WHAT a year!?
Yes, I think he's in the Tier II of fantasy D-men, right there after the standard Burns/Hedman/Karlsson/Buff group.

12F/6D league with 22 keepers is a league where a young stud D-man like Makar will hold great long-term value.
So - if you are sort of willing to plan your whole team success for 2+ years out, rather than "NOW" (next 2 years), then Makar's your guy.
IF, though, you want to take a serious shot at winning next two years, then just go with one of the many solid forwards that will be there.

Those guys i listed are probably the top 5 drops from the other teams...so they are probably available!

    I need to decide between:

    Top5: Giordano/McDavid/Seguin/Stamkos/Atkinson

    Top10:
    Hedman/T.Wilson/Trouba/Guentzel/Pastrnak

Have to drop 1 of each group and 1 of the rest of my roster

At this point i would say it‘s Atkinson/Trouba and Hintz!

    ^Yup.
(T.Wilson vs. Trouba could be debated - but Tom Wilson is the real deal in PIM/Hit leagues... especially as PIM gets scarcer by the year.)

    That‘s why i want him...and because i think he‘s the better choice in a multicat league than Q.Hughes (he‘s already taken,so actually there isn‘t a choice )
We just finished our 4th year of this keeperleague and i won it 3 times, except last year!
So i think i would be competitive even with Makar the next 2 years that‘s the reason why i‘m thinking of drafting him in the 1st round...my forwards are pretty good i think

Yeah that‘s why i want to keep Hughes instead, because he‘s a beast in these categories+ he has some scoring potential too
