    Default Last Keeper - Keep 5 - 12 teams (Dubois,Keller,Tuch,Svech)

So it’s that time again…who’s my last keeper?

    12 teams
    straight points
    2C,2LW,2RW,2D,2Util,1G
    Keep 5

First 4 Keepers: E.Karlsson, Scheifele, M.Tkachuk, Seguin ( I feel good about this core!)

Following this forum’s advice, I ended up doing a fire sale in January and I was able to accumulate draft picks; 2 first round picks…6 picks in the first 3 , 7 in first 5 rounds but this also means my last keeper is a little weaker than what I’d like

Now up to my last keeper…a lot of youngsters to choose from but a lot of uncertainty as well.

Who would you pick in that list? Sorted by my personal ranking.

    PL Dubois
    Clayton Keller
    Svechnikov
    Tuch

......(not considering these last 4 but never know...)
    J.Schwartz
    Lee
    A.Johnsson
    Labanc

FYI. Notable players most likely available in re-draft:
Tarasenko, Huberdeau, Guentzel, Landeskog, Larkin, Couturier, Terevainen, Forsberg, Arvidsson, Duchene, O’Reilly, Zibanedjad, Reinhart, Letang, Chabot

Svech would be my first pick, Keller second.

I like Svech and like the upside of what he can become but realistically....with let's say 40 points or so... I can't see anyone grabbing him in the re-draft before the 3rd or 4th round and even then...

don't you think guys like Keller or Dubois have bigger names hence, I could keep one of those two and re-draft Svech with a 2nd or 3rd round pick ?

    sure..but
PLDs number since Duchene arrived have really slowed, and IF MD re-signs there i expect the same output.
Keller is on a terrible team, and yes he has ore points than Svech this year, but compared to last season Kellers have dropped off this season.
The same argument could be had for Svech, but his supporting cast is just that much better than Kellers..

EDIT: as my firt post says..if i had to make teh call today its Svech, then Keller then PLD, but its not a massive gap by any means.

Svechnikov for me. He spent 80% of the year on a grinding third line with plugs like Wallmark and Martinook yet still has 20 goals and 36 points as an 18 year old. He's on the 2nd line with TT and Staal now and is showing what he's actually capable of.

The Canes opted for the 'ease him in' approach to get used to the NHL and work on his two way game, and as a result he flew under a lot of radars compared to a rookie like Pettersson who got a full-on scoring role right out of the gate. He's a stud in the making and this is probably the lowest his value will ever be so I'd be looking to scoop him up in keeper leagues.

I might have been higher on Tuch before the Stone trade but he's buried in the lineup now, and PLD doesn't have near the ceiling Svech does offensively IMO.

In a keep 5 you need to go with the guy that should produce the most next season. To me as far as opportunity goes the most likely in points only is Keller.

I like svech alot but will he be on line 1 and pp1 next season? Maybe. But they may continue easing him in. Keller is all but guaranteed that deployment and is better than hes produced this season. He's the most likely to go over 65 points next season in my opinion. I'm not looking beyond next season in this league with a 5th keeper. You may very well end up drafting another keeper in the first round next year that bumps everyone on your list for the following season.

Edit: considering position and that you already have two centers I can see going svech. Makes it way closer. It's between those two for me and wouldn't fault either choice.
