I'd say their offensive upside is about equal but Byram is the better all-around defenseman, so if they were put on the same team, I'd put my money on Byram. But Bouchard is closer to the NHL, so he'll get his shot first. If he was able to prove himself as the go-to guy quickly, Byram maybe wouldn't get an opportunity to overtake him. So all in all, it's a complicated matter and there's no easy answer to it.
