I always play them until closer to the end where I see how things are shaking out.

That was my strategy last week and it helped me win all my goalie categories. I'd continue to use it as long as the goalies I'm using are studs. Tampa is a daunting matchup, but Kuemper has been great. I'd start him.

Scary to start the semifinal/final week with a goalie who plays against Lightning in Tampa. You should calculate all the games that your goalies could play, same with your opponent's. His Jones has 3 games, but a back 2 back on Thursday and Friday. Varlamov has 4, but with the recent Grbauer performances, I could see Varlamov plays just 1 or 2 games.
Man, you have Andersen, Binnington + Kuemper who has 4 games this week. I would consider sitting him tonight.

As a rule of thumb, I have not been starting my goalies when they play TB this year. Without SAVES as a CAT, the best you can hope for is a Kuemper W. Is that really going to happen? TB 8-2 over the last 10 games, 4 W's in a row, 17 GF in the last three games. There is so much risk in starting him, and very little likely upside.

I would not start Kuemper tonight. TB is a different beast this year.

    No.
The stars would have to align perfectly for this risk to work well for you.
    I'd stay away from tonight.

Fully agree. Have to see what your opponent got also and the difficulty of their matches. If you have more games in hand, there's no reason to risk tonight especially since SA is not a category and L is.

    Thanks for the response everyone.

I am especially hesitant because 7 days ago I started Andersen against TB and Kuemper against Chicago and both were pulled after giving up 4 goals in the 1st period. It was a miracle I still won.
