Default Top Upside - Brannstrom, Hughes, Makar

With the categories in my signature, rank these three (in a keeper of course). Time of arrival is no issue.

    Thanks.

    likely next year all 3.

    as for ranking... man.

I think think this might be better suited for these three

    Set a bar at 60pts.

Watch the 3 of them take turns jumping, lifting their head above the bar year after year.

slight edge to Hughes for me as he has no competition.

    Brannstrom has Chabot
    Makar has Barrie

Sure it could be benefitial to have 2 Top PP guys (see Burns and Karlsson), or it could be a disadvantage too because they'll have less PP time.

This is kind of my way of thinking as well but it's not like there haven't been Barrie trade rumors for a while too. At this point, I don't think any of them should be counted out and all three are excellent prospects.

According to a Denver post article this week it's almost a sure thing that Barrie is moved this summer. I agree that all have tremendous upside and you couldn't go wrong with any if them but Makar just seems a cut above the rest. I think the supporting cast in Colorado is above what Vancouver and Ottawa are going to offer up over the next few years. I'm not a fan of Benning or Dorion and don't have much confidence in the short or long term outlook of either team.

The lack of supporting cast didn't seem to slow down Chabot this year.

when you're the only offensive talent left on an AHL team, expect your production to tank. Look at every Ott player's production since the deadline. There's a difference in having a supporting cast and a cast to support you. Right now Chabot's on an island. Ott wasn't exactly a juggernaut pre-deadline either.

But, I would remove Van from inclusion with Ott. There's Boeser, Horvat, Pettersson, Gaudette & likely Edler back to support Hughes. If they can avoid injuries, Baertchi, Goldy, Leivo add decent secondary scoring. Obviously a notch below Col's top line, but a PP1 to take serious next year.

Makar has the highest potential of the 4 guys mentioned and it's not that close. The inclusion of hits as a category is the reason why. Makar is the only one who will be above 1 hit per game.
