Thus providing some amount of cover as to whether the words were uttered or not.

I'm not surprised - Rielly doesn't really come across as the type of person who would use that kind of language.

I do however wonder what the hell "rag it" is supposed to mean as a hockey term lol

"Rag it" means don't try to score, but instead play keep away, or simply just grind the puck out in the corner so the clock keeps winding down.
