Default Start 2: Bob, Varlamov, Koskinen.

Top seed in playoffs but ravaged by injuries (Landeskog, Kane, Tarasenko, Karlsson, Hall, Dumba) and really need to take goalie cats this week to survive.

Bob would typically be a fairly obvious choice here but has a rough sched this week: @NYI, Bos, Car, @Bos. Both starts vs Boston are second half of B2bs for Columbus, but not for Boston.

Varlamov is at home vs CAR, ANA, NJ. Those last two matchups are tasty.

Koskinen also has a decent schedule - NYR, NJ, @ARI, @VKG. I don't really trust Koskinen but he does have a 0.926 since Talbot left and the Oilers are healthy and playing better defensive hockey in general.

    Input appreciated.

Columbus isn't playing well, and that is going to hurt against four tough matchups. I would roll with Koski and Varly.

Bob has the tougher schedule, and he's only likely to play two of those games.

You'll get three starts out of Koskinen, so he's a must. Varlamov you could get as many as three, more likely two but the matchups look pretty favourable.

I'm not sure CBJ can afford to sit Bob anymore. I got the impression they didn't dress him at all the other night to let him rest up before riding him hard down the stretch. With their deadline investments and playoff position in peril - I wouldn't be all that shocked to see him start all 4.

In saying that, given his schedule that's likely not good for his prospects this week.

I am leaning Varly/Koskinen, but sitting Bob just feels wrong. He's been so good at this time of year for me over the years.

Varlamov loses a start tonight against CAR to Grubauer.
