Question Early Keeper Decision - Tough Calls... (REP Given)

We keep 6 each year and I've got a few obvious ones, but some tough calls for the last spot or two. I'll try to turn a couple of them into a better single keeper, but honestly I've tried hard already and am not having much movement on the 2-for-1 front.

Obvious - Kucherov, Karlsson, Eichel, Scheifele

Tough Calls (in order I'm leaning) - Krug, Seguin, DeBrincat, Tarasenko, Huberdeau, Klingberg

What are you guys thinking? Would you change up my listed order? Thanks!

You're right it's a really tough decision considering the positional starts and points only. You're taking the right approach in trying to make a 2 for 1 trade (assuming winning is fairly locked up or out of reach this year, if it's not then focus on the win and sort out the tough keeper decisions in the off season).

I'd continue trying for the 2 for 1, don't give up! Seguin and Tarasenko would be who I'd start with as they are big names.

I like Krug as one of the keepers as defense is your deepest starting position. For positional balance Huberdeau makes a lot of sense as the last one but I have a hard time putting him above Seguin or tank. You could also load your right wing with tank and specifically target the best LW available at next year's draft. May have to do an assessment of which positions are going to be toughest to fill at the draft next season based on other teams keepers if you can't make a move.

The best player up there is still probably Seguin so an argument for just filling your centers can be made as well. Considering the up tick in scoring and his slow/unlucky start, I'd have no problem locking him in for ppg next season. Problem is you don't want to necessarily keep 3 centers in a keep 6.

Keep grinding at trades attempts, it only takes one to make this decision alot easier.

I honestly don't think Tarasenko holds much value in a keeper league especially based on PTS only....he is just not a PPG player in this league. I would be offering his name out there in every trade and hope someone bites on the name.

I am going with Debrincat especially if he has multi position eligibility and Krug.....

I am packaging Klingberg and Krug and trying to get Burns or Rielly.

Then I am keeping Seguin or DeBrincat... likely Seguin.

Thanks guys! I've loved having Seguin as a keeper, but he's been getting bumped down my center depth and I also plan to take Jack Hughes in the first round next season, which makes a Seguin keep even tougher. I love DeBrincat but his lack of name value makes me think I might be able to still grab him second round. I've been able to do well in this league by loading up on scoring defencemen, which makes me lean towards Krug for one of the spots. Think he keeps it up? Think Klingberg bounces back a bit next season?

Update: I've agreed to trade away Klingberg and Forsberg at the end of the season for a 2nd and 3rd rounder. Also Huberdeau has been beast mode ever since this thread started, so I've pretty much decided on:

For Sure: Kucherov, Karlsson, Eichel, Scheifele
    Pretty Sure: Huberdeau
    Leaning Towards: Krug
Trying to Trade Away for a 1st: Seguin, Tarasenko

Anyone have an issue with this order? Thanks!

Also just traded DeBrincat, Yandle, a 7th and a 10th for a 2nd and a 3rd. All of a sudden my picks for next season are looking pretty good! Still trying to trade away Tarasenko and Seguin for serious pick upgrades.

Now I'm thinking THESE are my for sure keepers: Kucherov, Karlsson, Eichel, Huberdeau

And THESE are my potential choices for the last 2 spots (in order I'm leaning): Scheifele (1.0PPG C) , Krug (0.8PPG D), Tarasenko (0.9PPG), Seguin (1.0PPG C)

What do you guys think I should do for my last two keeper spots? REP given!

Thanks! But can you tell me why you'd go with Seguin so easily over Scheifele?
