Default Jayce Hawryluk potential future beast for multicat leagues?

Hawryluk skated on second line yesterday with Trocheck and Dadonov. I think it looked like he had really good synergy with Trocheck and in many ways played really well. Got an assists too. Still was limited to only 11 minutes but Panthers had season high penalties in the game and Hawryluk was not playing on pk. He also got 5 hits with only 11 minutes of playtime

His point totals are surprisingly good for a rookie with avg playtime around 8 minutes, he seems to average over 2 hits per game even with the limited game time. He was a point per game player in AHL this season. Usually has produced where ever he plays but took him couple years to adjust to pro games and he also had some injuries. I love how he plays with grit and passion!

Any thoughts about this guy? I think he could be sneaky good waiver wire pick now for next year. What kind of upside do you guys think he has in deep florida system?

For what it's worth, a couple of years ago Dobber said Hawryluk's upside was Ryan Kesler, 70+ points, 90+ PIM.

It will probably take a while for him to get there, if ever.

Good combo player for multi-cat but I don't see a big offensive upside here. More of a 3rd line guy who moves up periodically for energy or to cover for injuries.

Well it all depends on the league size and settings. if he starts to average over 3 hits per game in a deep multicat league thats already a ok depth player with good upside!

The time is now, if there ever is going to be a time.

"The Panthers assigned Hawryluk (upper body) to AHL Springfield for conditioning purposes, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.|Hawryluk hasn't played since Oct. 30, but it appears the 23-year-old center is healthy and will get back into game shape in the minors. Springfield plays Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so Hawryluk will likely return to the big club following the weekend."
