The thing about this for me, is that the first 4 are undeniable. Whether or not you would consider Trouble at the Henhouse to be “Great” may be questionable.

The Hip are my favourite band so I’m on board with this but it would look so much more impressive if we could skip Henhouse and slot in Phantom Power.

The first 4 are great, I’d put Yield in the really good category.

Great idea for a thread by the way. Very difficult to think of any others besides the ones mentioned already. It’d be a lot easier with 3 consecutive great albums.

I would replace Trouble at the Henhouse with their debut album, The Tragically Hip. It's a lesser known album but it is great from start to finish.

You're crazy. All of those were excellent albums. I could have easily added a few more but they weren't in a row. The Hot Space album was a piece of garbage and broke the string for me.

Not as big on Mother's Milk or Stadium Arcadium, but the other three I agree with.

I'll go with the Food Fighters:

The colour and the shape - 1997
    There's nothing left to lose - 1999
    One by one - 2002
    In your honour - 2005
Echoes, silence, patience, and grace - 2007
    Wasting light - 2011

And then sonic highways ruined it.

Wildly incorrect. They made six great albums to start their career.

    Black Sabbath
    Paranoid
    Master of Reality
    Volume 4
    Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
    Sabotage

    Then the wheels fell off.

I’m a huge fan and was thinking about it they only made 3 albums that are excellent, and 2 that are great but only filler to make a list of 5.

    OK Computer
    The Bends
    Pablo Honey

Amnesiac / Kid A <—- essentially a double length. Everything after was trash in comparison.

    Ursa Major
    Dopamine
I secretly enjoyed their ST album but i’m sorry to say they were pretty terrible live. Didn’t even know they did 5 albums.

I submit for appraisal... Wilco. The evolution of the band expressing the same true self at the same time was exquisite.

    AM
    Being There
    Summerteeth
    YHF
    AGIB
I would say no to Clutch, even though they're one of my favourite bands of all time.

    Transnational Speedway League: not great
    Clutch: great
    The Elephant Riders: great
    Jam Room: not great
    Pure Rock Fury: great
Blast Tyrant: just ****ing unbelievably amazing
    Robot Hive/Exodus: great
From Beale Street to Oblivion: great
Strange Cousins from the West: not great
    Earth Rocker: great
    Psychic Warfare: great
Book of Bad Decisions: not great

They screwed it up with Strange Cousins. That album was just mediocre beyond belief.
