We have our winner. 5 absolute classics, hear hear!

You can also add Blue Valentine, The Black Rider and Mule Variations to that list, that's eight in a row.

^Interesting because I've tried to love Tom Waits at age 25 (couldn't do it), age 30 (couldn't do it), age 35 (nope), and now I'm 40+ and have finally/actually... really... gotten into Jazz & Blues.
So... Waits is my "radio channel", as of right now.
I've always wanted to be part of the Tom Waits love-fest club... but won't fake my way into it.

    I shall try again.

Nice. I actually think Henhouse is my top out of those you listed. But Fully Completely... oh man, what a disc.

Well, I would only use Metallica if I was able to use Garage Days as their 5th. Others would be able to say Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ... And Justice for All, and the Black album, and for them, Metallica could hit the criteria. Personally, I think the Black album is horrid and it makes me sad, so I wouldn't use it. It was the first absolutely trash Metallica album. Sadly, they have had many since then as well...

Considering it's sat #1 for months & sold 17million copies..
I think you should include it based on looking beyond your own preferences.
I have a hard time including cover albums on any list of 'great albums' unless it's specifically a 'cover album' list.

If you scrap 2 songs - Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman - that album improves drastically.

It's the first album the band decided intentionally to become commercial. They made the video "One" begrudgingly. Until Enter Sandman, that was their only music video.

... and then James got sober, lost his ability to write. Lars got sober, and his head swelled beyond his drum kit.

Don't get me wrong. I am not denying that it was a huge commercial success and MANY people loved it. I was trying to be very clear through my posts on the subject, that my personal opinion is that it is garbage.
