    The Beatles

    Rubber Soul (1965)
    Revolver (1966)
    Sgt Pepper (1967)
    Magical Mystery Tour (1967)
The Beatles (aka White Album) (1968)

Though I can see how some purists could argue Magical Mystery Tour is not a "real" album. It's personally among my favourites.

interesting...the Stones only had 4 in a row, IMO, but 6 out 7:

    Aftermath (1966) - yes
Between the Buttons (1967) - yes
Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967) no!
    Beggars Banquet (1968) oh yeah
Let It Bleed (1969) damn right
    Sticky Fingers (1971) uh huh
Exile on Main St. (1972) my favourite!

If not MMT then you could put Abbey Road down as #5

Good point. My issue was Yellow Submarine in between. But I guess if Mystery Tour doesn't count as an album, then Yellow Submarine doesn't either.

I see what you mean. I think MMT is definitely an album, and I agree with you that it's one of their best. I also agree that Yellow Submarine is NOT an album.

I would say Metallica, but I am not sure if they fit the criteria or if people would agree with me :-)
    Kill em All
    Ride the Lightning
    Master of Puppets
    ...And Justice for All
    Garage Days Inc...

The issue is that most don’t consider Garage Days to be considered a real album. Which means the self titled album (Black Album) becomes the 5th album, and I personally think that the Black Album is brutal. ...And Justice for All is the last truly brilliant cover to cover album they did.

I would also say The Tragically Hip

    Up to Here
    Road Apples
    Fully Completely
    Day for Night
    Trouble at the Henhouse

The thing about this for me, is that the first 4 are undeniable. Whether or not you would consider Trouble at the Henhouse to be “Great” may be questionable.

It makes me sad that I wouldn’t consider Pink Floyd to meet your criteria.

    Meddle
The Dark Side of the Moon (Perhaps the Greatest Album of all time, for me)
    Wish You Were Here
    Animals
    The Wall

Sadly, between Meddle and The Dark Side of the Moon, is the horribly mediocre Obscured by the Clouds.

Ouch. Hands down my favourite Zeppelin album. While Lotta Love, Thank You, Heartbreaker, Ramble On, Bring it on Home. The album crushes beginning to end.
