His stats will improve now that he is out of Minnesota.
Wouldn't Coyle get a shot as the third center?

a lot of Boston fans on reddit seem overjoyed with this, and are seemingly implying that Donato is not a good player? I'm a bit surprised by this since he basically just made the jump to full time pro this year after finishing up university last season and getting his first taste.
A lot are also suggesting Coyle will be a 3rd line center in Boston.

Apparently the deal won't be official until 10 p.m.
From Bob McKenzie:
Not official but hearing the trade is Coyle to BOS in exchange for Ryan Donato and a fifth-round pick. Details to come.

- I said... "God damn this tablet is heavy!"
I wonder if this means Stone is staying in Ottawa since they were supposedly so heavy on him?
I mean, Stone staying in Ottawa has more to do with Stone's willingness to extend there. However, Boston still has some good pieces in the system, including several recent R1 picks and they still have their 1st in this draft as well so I wouldn't think this precludes them from getting involved.

I like this deal for the Bruins. Donato is a good prospect but the chances are he develops into a similar player to Coyle with a slight chance at being better than him. Coyle is still young and on a decent contract for another year and should be more productive than Donato would down the stretch. He's a Massachusetts boy too so should be happy to be playing for the Bruins.
Without me, it's only "aweso".
Here's Donato's profile: https://dobberprospects.com/player/ryan-donato/
He's a very good prospect. His offensive upside is arguably higher than Coyle's but that's to be expected because Coyle is the better player right now. I think it's a fair deal for both sides.
I think Coyle has more offensive upside than Minn has been able to untap. I can see him thriving in Bos. Minn seems to want to go more speed/skill with their last couple of moves

What are you talking about?
Donato is slower than Coyle.
Rask is slower and less skilled than Niederreiter.
Kapla is slower than Murphy.
Bitetto is not a good skater.
Hunt is more skilled and a better skater than Prosser so I will give you that one.
Aberg might be faster and more skilled than Kloos but he was already waived by two non-playoff teams this year.
It's pretty clear that Paul Fenton has no clue what he is doing. The latest rumor is that he wants to trade Granlund to Nashville straight up for Kevin Fiala.
