    Default Smith reclaiming the net?

He's on the wire. I've got Bishop, Binnington, Nilsson and Delia. Anderson's back so Nilsson is back to back-up. Crawford is a few starts away from Delia going back down....so....might as well take a flyer on Smith and let Delia go...amiright?

Figures. I just traded for Rittich. Stupid goalies. I have been chasing my tail all season. I can't believe they are giving Smith 3 in a row. I (wrongly I suppose) thought Rittich would get he brunt of the starts for the remainder of the season.

First, thanks all for the responses. Second...can never tell. Smith is a UFA...so while he's making more money the rest of the way I still think Calgary will go with the hot hand. Still, 3 in a row makes no sense unless Rittich feeling the wear of the season. This is the most he's ever played in a season so maybe he's hitting a wall. Showcase for Smith? Last hurrah? Can't tell.

And the Flames play Arizona, NYI, Anaheim and Ottawa this week. Should be 3 wins at least.

Smith is getting the third straight start because he can gain some revenge on the Coyotes organization. He played there for years. Not sure he would get this one if he didnt have the history.

Great point from CBSsports. Mike Smith is 3-1-0 with a .953 save percentage against the Coyotes since they traded him to the Flames.

This would explain this start because Smith really hasnÂ’t been that good to take the crease back over. I would take the guy who is 20-5-5 with a .911 save percentage over a guy who is 15-11-2 with a .891 save percentage.

To be fair to Rittich, heÂ’s had Tampa and San Jose in 2 of his last 3 outings.

The problem is you are using logic...

And would you take the guy with a .899 save percentage over the last month, or the guy with .883? Seriously, who cares about October? What have you done for me lately?

Lets see, Smith has played against Florida, Pittsburgh, and Arizona. Rittich had to play against Tampa, San Jose, and Vancouver. Smith had the way easier opponents. Rittich played against the 2 best teams in the league. You can’t put Smith in against Vancouver, Pettersson has ended Smith’s career. Smith is still looking for the rebound from Pettersson’s first goal in the NHL.

I think its safe to be worried now if you own Rittich.
