Default My last G move of the season - needs to be a good one

I don't think it is possible for someone to screw up his goaltending situation any worse than I have this year. I dropped Quick after he went on IR, had Halak and dropped him, rode Koskinen after his star had fallen, passed on Binnington when I had the chance, dropped Kuemper one game before he put up a 1.0GAA that would have netted me two important points, then picked up Broissoit the night before he posted a 5 GAA redlight special that cost me big time. And of course except for Helly's last start, he and Rittich have been just abysmal lately. I lost 3-7 last week because of them.

I only have 9 moves left for the whole rest of the season, and I'm 6 points out of a playoff spot. Nobody will trade me a serviceable goalie. So I'm gonna roll the dice just one more time and be done with it. One. Last. Move. It needs to count. So... who? With Helly and Rittich on my team I probably don't absolutely need a #1 guy because with three goalies I'll probably get the four starts I need. So a backup guy would likely suffice. But both Helly and Rittich are losing starts lately so I really do need a guy who'll get me at least one start each week.

    Broissoit
    Delia
    Kuemper
    DeSmith
    Khudobin
    McElhinney
    Saros
    Campbell

I'm going to do my best to hold off on making this move until I hear from a bunch of you. Please ring in! Rep given!

    Thanks!

Given your situation where you said one start a week is enough...I would go with Saros. Plays every few games in obviously one of the best teams in the league.

Saros would also be my choice. If you aren’t sold on him I would consider Broossoit for the same reasons. Decent back-up on a top team that should net you a few wins. Outside consideration to DeSmith just because Murray could get injured at anytime and you could end up with a starter on a good team if that were to happen.

With Wins and saves, if you have three starters (by adding Kuemper) you should win those two most weeks, and Sv% and GAA are a crapshoot anyways.
I would either grab Kuemper, or just ride the two goalies and take another skater to try and brute force win those categories on volume.

The names that jumped out to me were Saros and Kuemper. Kuemper will easily get you that start a week. Saros will give you great production when he is in there. If you are that torn, look at playoff week matchups. Good luck.

I assumed Kuemper was taken after jimc21 dropped him? If he is still out there than I would put him atop the list considering he is the starter.

Actually, Kuemper is still out there as a FA. I dropped him for Brossoit and in doing so swapped an eventual 1GAA win of Kuemper's for a 5GAA loss by Brossoit. Such has been my season. Then I dropped Brossoit because I was pissed, am still a moron, and needed to waste another roster move for no good reason. But all of those guys I posted in the original post are still available.

I appreciate the sentiment for Saros, but it sounds like Kuemper and Brossiot are still my best bet according to the conventional wisdom above. I'll give this another half a day or so, maybe long enough for someone in our league to get the guy I really wanted. Because, if there's a way to screw this up worse than I already have, I'm pretty much bound to do that!

Thanks guys! Keep the opinions coming.

I would take Kuemper. ARI is playing great and Kuemper has been putting up solid numbers for months now.

Delia has not played that well since his first week up. He has been giving up way too many soft goals. Plus, Crawford was a full participant in a recent practice.

I'd go Keumper; he has very little competition for the net and Arizona is playing well. I hope he's not snagged while you are making up your mind!

ya, thats why i said to wait if he can. im not sold on Craw being 100%. but you are right Delia has had some soft outtings, but the team IMO is a better team than ARZ has in front of Kuemper...

With Hellebuyck and Rittich already on your team, I would go with Saros. Probably not as many starts as some of the others but they should be better stats when he does start. The Preds will also be looking to give Rinne enough games off so he is well rested for a playoff run.

Brossoit, Kuemper, or Saros are the only options I'd want in your shoes.

Brossoit insures the Jets starts, and that's good.
Kuemper should give you most of the Coyotes starts, and that's good.
Saros should give you a solid number of Predators starts, and that's good.

Look at your schedule, and see who you can use the most. I'd expect you will get all of Brossoit's starts, but you may get more from off-nights of another goalie than just getting what you expect from back-to-back and such.
