Werenzki for quinn hughes

Would you do it?

I may have the opportunity to move my werenzki for his quinn hughes. If it were to happen I would promote Heiskanen to my roster and stash Hughes in my minors.

I plan to keep 3 D at seasons end, my keepers would be Jones,Werenzki,Provorov. And would be promoting heiskanen next season. If I trade werenzki and use a keeper slot on heiskanen I would have the choice of promoting hughes,makar, or brannstrom next season. Whoever performs best.

Seems like a solid plan to me. Am I missing something?

A lot depends on what position your team is in right now. If you're in a position to compete for a title or some money this season, absolutely not. Heiskanen this season would be a downgrade from Werenski. Plus Werenski is already established and only in his third NHL season.

If you're rebuilding or have zero chance of winning your league championship this season, then I might consider it, since you have a number of solid young blueliners in your pipeline to choose from in the future.

Q. Hughes is just a prospect. Who knows what he can do at nhl level? Werenski is a stud and you should not trade him for a prospect.
