    Default Rielly vs Klingberg +

Been offered Klingberg and Binnington for Rielly (Likely be able to get another medium plus). My goalie situation is a bit woesome with Bishop injured (should be back soon?) and McElhinney in a time share.

Another thing that worries me is Allen did get the win on Sunday, though not convincing, it may still be enough to regain some starts from Binnington.

As for Rielly, has he surpassed Klingberg in value with his current hot season or is it close?

    Scoring and team in sig.

    Thanks.

As with any 2-for-1 deal when you receive the 2, you'll need to decide who to drop. Guessing with your lineup that might be Green?

Yes, Rielly's value has surpassed Klingberg's. You also have Andersen in net and if Bishop returns soon, you'll be fine. Plus Binnington might start losing starts now that Allen had a fairly strong game on Sunday (see Dobber's Ramblings for more).

Personally, I'd pass while looking for a short-term option in net (maybe Khudobin?) Drop Green if you have to make that happen.

I’d keep Rielly. He’s the best player in the trade. He is The Man in Toronto. Klingberg is still a top tier D but Heiskanen is starting to eat into Klingberg’s time a little. And goaltending is so volatile I’m not trading a take it to bank player like Rielly for an unproven possible flash in the pan goalie.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I was leaning toward passing the deal, I was mostly just curious on peoples opinions on Rielly vs Klingberg.

I would think before this season most would have taken Klingberg in a heartbeat over Rielly.

Crazy what 55 games can do

I think the big question coming into this season with Reilly was pp time. Was Babcock going to run two units and was Reilly going to be on the 1b unit. 55 games later and we know the answer to those questions. Most around here knew he was pretty good. He has surpassed klingberg and probably won't look back. That said kling is still a great option on the back end.

Is it safe to say that Rielly isn't necessary more skilled than Klilngberg? But rather his colleagues are superior? Feels weird saying that about Benn and Seguin...

I do agree, with holding onto Rielly, but yes its close - Fwiw, I don't think Allen is suddenly going to take over again...
