    Default Time to cut Quick?

    Hey Guys,

    2nd team in sig.

Wondering if it's time to outright drop Jonathan Quick,

A few goalies that are FA's - Howard, Hutton, Varlamov, Koskinen,

I also have Carter Hart on my farm whom I could call up but that would mean I lose him from the farm for next year. I'm currently in 8th and can push for a playoff spot which is why I'm debating dropping quick.

Or is this just a useless move?

I wouldn't cut him for Koskinen or Varlamov, as those seem like lateral moves at best. Hutton's performance has tanked these past weeks. So maybe Howard?

It's a matter of philosophy, but if barely getting to the playoffs has value for you, then by all means use Hart. Personally, if you don't feel that you can contend for the title or big money, I'd save Hart in the minors and not burn a year of eligibility just so that you can limp into the playoffs.

You are in 8th place, so you are pretty unlikely to win this year. Chances of pulling off multiple upsets are slim, so you are right in not wanting to burn a year of Hart. The options available o don’t think are worth it. Hold onto Quick and hope that him and LA have a better season next year.

Thanks guys. Ya that's what I'm thinking.

I don't have to worry about Quick next year as I will probably look to keep Bob - however maybe I'll end up with Quick anyways in the draft. For now I think I'm stuck with him and his surprisingly shitty season.

Depending on why you're in 8th place, you may want to go for it, but I wouldn't burn a year of Hart's farm status to try, nor would I cut Quick - he should have some value.

I was in 10th, but way ahead of 11th and fairly close to 5th, when I realized I wasn't getting solid offers for my veterans, so I held. I'm now in a battle for 4th, sitting in 6th - final playoff spot. No trades made, but some FA/WW pickups have helped me.
