Goal scorers go through slumps. It happens. Everyone forgets the slumps when he finds this touch again and starts scoring in bunches. Take the bad with the good or trade him for a more consistent performer who may not score as many goals but puts up similar points totals.

He's been testing my patience for sure. I'm open to moving him but only if I can get back a high end piece in the deal like an elite young defenseman. Otherwise I'm not really contending this year so I can afford to keep him and let him develop more before taking another run next season.

The doubts about his mental toughness and possible video game addiction are warranted though. I'm sure his Fortnite profile and hours spent playing are way more public than the team would like it to be and its clear even from his own interviews that he's extremely sensitive to wild confidence swings. The Jets might have to step in at some point to get his mindset and on-ice development back on track.

I own Laine and I am severely shutting down any attempt at other GMs’ opportunistic buy low attempts with an FU reply.

Laine is a stud and a half. Sure he’s having middle to the season but he will bounce back from this and he just has too much damn potential to keep floundering.

Thank me later when he’s accumulating 40-50 goal seasons every year.

He's a streaky goal scoring stud, that's for sure. He'll score 45-55 goals on a regular basis, but I wouldn't expect point totals to fluctuate much beyond 65-75. He's better used in some leagues than others.

Laine played up to 14 hours of Fortnight this past Saturday alone.
Laine has played over 5,400 Fortnight matches so far.
Saturday January 19, on a game night, Laine played 41 Fortnight matches.

If he's played 5400 matches and if an average game is 20 minutes, that's 1800 hours of fortnight or 75 full days.

Fortnight was released in July 25th, 2017 (had to look that up).

If he's played since day one that's 18 months which means he's averaged about 3.33 hours of fortnight per day. That's quite a bit, if it's true. I think we are going to see this type of addiction in young athletes more and more.

It keeps him out of bars, where the real trouble lies...but this is an addiction regardless.
