Dzingel over Getzlaf??

looking at these two guys, just out of curiosity...

Dzingel 44GP, 19G 16A, 35P, -12, 23PIM, 7PPP (-5 in his last 15GP) = C/LW/RW
Getzlaf 41GP, 10G, 22A, 32P -12, 31PIM, 5PPP (-14 in his last 15GP BUT -19 in last 12GP though!!!) = C

am i crazy to make this swap?!

I am beyond frustrated with Marchessault but I would not drop him over Getzlaf... He will catch fire soon and you will regret doing him...Not sure I would take Dzingel over Getz either.

I've had Dzingel since November in a points-based H2H league, and I've been thrilled with him obviously. That said, I worry about Ottawa selling his linemates at the deadline. Not sure he keeps it up over rest of the season without Duchene. Maybe if you had an obvious streamer spot to plug him into until then, but not Getzlaf. Maybe drop Pacioretty? If Vegas gets healthy he may lose playing time again. I'd drop him before Getzlaf or Marchessault. Or a goalie? You're kinda weak there, but is the FA pool too thin for G to lose anybody?

Agree with this - was previously just answering the initial question and that’s a definite no on dropping a guy who until 10 games ago was playing at a point per game pace - making moves like that based on small sample sizes is how you lose huge as a manager in the long run. Even if Getzlaf is starting his decline, there’s no way he just falls off a mountain and underproduced Dzingel - Dzingel’s ceiling is almost Getz floor still. Especially given the likelihood Ottawa sends assets out the door at the deadline and I wouldn’t credit Dzingel as a big play driver. Getzlaf is still the guy in Anaheim.

Although a little weak in net, you’re carrying a 5 goalies for 3 categories W, SV, SV% - I’d have no issue cutting loose Delia as he’s only guaranteed to get you saves - W and SV% do not look like good bets with that Hawks team.

Ya, you both are right Getz may not be teh right drop. ive added and dropped DZ all year long and hes actually not that bad, except for teh -12, he's actually quite rosterable.

Chances are he gets traded so i don't see him being a Senator for much longer, which given my current roster a 4th Sen would be too many anyway ATM but looking ahead to teh Trade Deadline could see him in another jersey (for better or worse). its not an immediate addition, just looking to see what my options are for when that day comes and he ends up in Pittsburgh or something where his value takes an uptick...

looking at my roster today, Getz, Gallagher and yes a Gman, or even McDonough wouldve been on my radar as the cut. Marshy and or Patches were certainly in that mix too.
